    Amelia Earhart's Lockheed L-10
    Historic Aircraft Model

Amelia Earhart, America's Sweetheart of the Sky, was a noted American aviation pioneer.   She was the first woman to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross, for being the first aviatrix to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.   Earhart set many other records, wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences, and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots.   On July 2, 1937 during an attempted circumnavigational flight of the globe, Earhart disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island.   The plane that she had chosen for this attempt was the new Lockheed Electra L-10E.

The Lockheed Electra series of planes would go on to modernize passenger travel and have an outstanding war record.  Black Hawk Models is proud to offer this outstanding airplane in control line form.   Coming out in conjunction with the new movie "Amelia", this great Blackhawk Models kit of Amelia's ill fated around the world plane features a big 29 inch wingspan and twin radial mounted .049 engines.   The first 100 kits will feature serial numbers on the box for collectors.
