Following World War I, a large number of military aircraft were sold to the public as surplus. War-time pilots looking to earn a living with their aviation skills found work for pilots was scarce. Many purchased these aircraft that were held together with bubble gum, shoe laces and a prayer, and travelled from place to place performing stunts and putting on flying exhibitions. These pilots were called "Barnstormers". These daredevils performed stunts that even Hollywood stunt men would not dare to do and their shows had a direct impact in promoting the popularity of aviation in this country. The Talon by Black Hawk Models is our version of the famous Barnstormers of the 1920's. With its simple yet solid construction and large wing area and sleek fuselage, you will soon be the barnstormer of your neighborhood, performing many of the stunts the Barnstormers did and living to tell about them!
